Choice in Personal Safety (CIPS) campaigns against compulsion in seatbelt laws and similar matters. It is chaired by Don Furness. It partially merged with the SIF in 2002. CIPS continues to exist as an autonomous group but pays half of its membership dues to the SIF. In return, CIPS receives support from the SIF and its members are considered to be full members of the SIF, being entitled to vote at formal meetings and receiving SIF literature.

More information about CIPS can be found in the article published in the September 2003 issue of The Individual.

If you wish to contact CIPS, please do so by post to CIPS, Mount House, Urra, Chop Gate, Middlesbrough, TS9 7HZ. CIPS also has its own plain text website at: www.againstseatbeltcompulsion.org/ that contains further information and data.
